Student Essay Competition: Václav Havel 90 in Georgia | სტუდენტური ესეების კონკურსი: ვაცლავ ჰაველი 90

The Czech Centre Tbilisi and the Ilia State University, with the support of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tbilisi and the Václav Havel Library in Prague, are launching a student essay competition in Georgia as part of the Havel 90 anniversary. The project builds on the Havelian tradition of the essay as a space for critical thinking, strong argumentation, responsible public expression, and work with sources.

The theme is: “Is it possible to live in truth in the age of information noise?” The competition is open to university students of all fields across Georgia, and essays will be written in Georgian. A complementary essay-writing workshop will take place at Ilia State University.

The winning essays will be celebrated at a public award ceremony in Tbilisi. The main prize is a study-cultural visit to Prague, including personal attendance at the annual international Václav Havel conference at the Václav Havel Library; additional prizes include Václav Havel books in Georgian and book vouchers.
